Seeking Nominations for the 2020 Carolyn Stell Award Recipient

We are seeking nominations for the 2020 Carolyn Stell Award recipient – and we need your help!

For those who are not familiar with this Award, it was named after Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Carolyn Stell, the first female trial court judge in Ingham County, and it is conferred annually on a lawyer or judge in recognition of her (or his) contributions to the legal community and to the advancement of women in the legal profession.  Past recipients of the Carolyn Stell Award include, but are not limited, to the following:

If you are interested in nominating a recipient for the 2020 Award, please submit the following to this address – [email protected] – by no later than Friday, October 30, 2020 at 5:00 P.M.:

  1. The nominee’s name;
  2. A brief bio of the nominee (no more than 1 page), including any notable accomplishments, professional experiences, etc…; and
  3. A brief statement (no more than 1 page) supporting your nomination and identifying the nominee’s most significant contributions to the legal community and to the advancement of women in the legal profession

As noted above, the primary criteria for conferring the Award are:

  • The nominee’s contributions to the legal community; and
  • The nominee’s contributions to the advancement of women in the legal profession

The Award recipient will be selected by the 2020 Carolyn Stell Committee.
