The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan is happy to announce that 12 scholarships of $3,500 each will be awarded to women law students in the Spring of 2020. There is also the possibility of an additional scholarship that is in the works for which all eligible applicants will be considered.
The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan is happy to announce that 12 scholarships of $3,500 each will be awarded to women law students in the Spring of 2020. There is also the possibility of an additional scholarship that is in the works for which all eligible applicants will be considered.
Each law school will collect applications and forward nominees for each award to the Foundation Board for final approval. For any scholarships designated for one school, we would prefer that only one nominee be submitted (if that complies with school rules). However, each applicant may be submitted for more than one scholarship. The following deadlines are in place for this year’s process:
- Students must apply in writing to their law school no later than December 15, 2019
- The law schools will forward to the Foundation Board recommended awardees, no later than January 15, 2020
- The WLAM Foundation Board will review nominations by February 15, 2020
- The awards will be made by March 15 and announced publicly in April of 2020.
There will be an awards ceremony on April 17th in conjunction with the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids.
Please give the announcement the broadest possible circulation to any eligible law student.
