Teresa Killeen Receives 2006 Mary Foster Award

At the holiday party on December 13th, Amy Smith presented the 2006 Mary Foster Award to the Washtenaw Region’s immediate past president, Teresa Killeen. The Mary Foster Award is presented annually to a member of the Washtenaw Region “whose leadership, talent and significant contributions to women provide a role model for women in the profession and women in general.” The award is named after the first female attorney in Ann Arbor who entered the profession in 1878 after graduating with high honors from the University of Michigan Law School.

Members Needed for the WLAM Statewide Legislative Committee

The WLAM Statewide Legislative Committee is looking for people who are aware of or are concerned about legislative issues relating to women and would like to bring them to the attention of WLAM.  The committee is in charge of updating WLAM of pending issues or the need of legislation, recommending positions and informing both the legislature and our members of the issues.

State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section

Each year the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section presents the Regeana Myrick Outstanding Young Lawyers Award. The award celebrates young lawyers who give of their time and talents to serve the community and the bar. This year’s recipient is Marla A. Linderman.  The award presentation will take place at the Young Lawyers Section Business Meeting on September 14, 2006 held in conjunction with the State Bar of Michigan Annual Meeting.
