Washtenaw Region Home
Welcome to Washtenaw! The Washtenaw County Region provides a source of professional development, support, and networking for lawyers and law students living and/or working in Washtenaw County. Active since 1978, the Region's membership includes women working in firms of all sizes, corporations, education, non-profit organizations, in the judiciary, elsewhere in the judicial system, other governmental offices, and outside the traditional practice of law as well. Our members range from law students and recent graduates to some of the most influential pioneering women lawyers and leaders in Michigan.
Led by a variety of passionate, energetic, creative women lawyers, we have something for everyone regardless of the stage of your career. We are very excited about our 201/2011 year and we invite you to join us in our upcoming activities. Upcoming events:
June – Annual Planning Retreat on Sunday, June 27 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Angela Walker's home. All interested members and nonmembers are welcome to get involved. Second quarterly Moms-In-Law Lunch discussion on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 12:00 PM at 201 N. Main St., lower level. Informal brown bag lunch for lawyers who are interested in the issues and challenges around being a parent and a lawyer. All are welcome regardless of your status as a mom or non-mom. July – Lawyers v. Judges Softball game at Buhr Park on Packard from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. If you would like to play, contact the Lawyers Team coach Elizabeth Jolliffe at elizabeth@yourbenchmarkcoach.com. No need to RSVP if you plan on being a spectator! We encourage everyone to come support the teams. There was also a PRACTICE for the lawyers team on May 24, 5:30 @ Allmendinger Park on Pauline.

August - WLAM foursomes forming for playing in the Washtenaw County Bar Association's annual scramble golf outing on August 13. Lunch @ noon. Shotgun start @ 1:30 pm. Golden Fox Championship course @ Fox Hills Golf Course on N. Territorial in Plymouth. WCBA's cost =$110/golfer (includes lunch & dinner). Anyone interested in playing w/ other Washtenaw Region members, contact elizabeth@yourbenchmarkcoach.com You don't have to be a pro golfer to play with us in a scramble.
September-October - Tailgate party before a U of M home football game. Additional details to come.
