Welcome to the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM). Since 1919, WLAM with our more than 700 member attorneys, judges and law students, have worked to secure the rights of women in society. by meeting our mission to advance the interest of women members of the legal profession, to promote improvements in the administration of justice, and to promote equality and social justice for all people, WLAM has made a difference. WLAM Statement Condemning Free Speech Violation in Michigan House of Representatives Garners National Attention
Remarks from WLAM were featured in an Associated Press (AP) article on the response to the banning of State Reps. Lisa Brown (D - West Bloomfield) and Barb Byrum (D - Onondaga) from their rights and responsibilities to participate in debate on the House floor (more).
