The next Mid-Michigan Mixer will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Troppo in downtown Lansing, from 5:30-7:30.  Our last mixer was great fun, and we hope to see many of you at this next one. Food is on WLAM, and it's a great way to unwind after work.

The Mid-Michigan Region is hosting its annual Carolyn Stell Scholarship Award reception on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Gilbert & Blake's in Okemos, Michigan. 

This year we are pleased to honor Senator Gretchen Whitmer for her efforts and contributions to women in the community.

Please join us for this wonderful event, there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. Suggested donation is $20 per person (WLAM members free). Donations of $75 or more will be featured in the program if received by October 11, 2010. Please click here for a copy of the invitation.

The Carolyn Stell Scholarship Award was established to promote greater access to the legal system and to better serve the legal needs of women in the community by providing financial assistance to Mid-Michigan women law students and to recognize their achievements.

If you are law student who would like to be considered for this award, click here for an application and for more information regarding the Stell Scholarship eligibility requirements. The deadline to submit an application is October 4, 2010.

WLAM Mid-Michigan is excited to announce a new event for Mid-Michigan members -- the Sparrow Women Working Wonders 5K, to be held Sunday, September 12 at Hawk Island Park. The run/walk begins at 9:30 a.m.; more details about the event can found at the Sparrow website. Since 2002, Women Working Wonders has raised more than $500,000 to support Sparrow's Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Room and Emergency Department Women's Treatment Rooms. This year, the race proceeds will go to the Sparrow Regional Cancer Center's Radiation and Oncology Department.

WLAM Mid-Michigan is proud to support this event, and will do so by paying for the registrations of the first 10 (ten) WLAM Mid-Michigan members who contact Sarah Wohlford at swohlford@honigman.com. Please join fellow WLAM members and others for this fun event for a good cause!

The WLAM Mid-Michigan Region will be holding a "Mid-Michigan Mixer" on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Gilbert and Blake's in Okemos, Michigan from 4-7 p.m. Appetizers will be complimentary. Click here for a flier with additional details. 

 

Please note that we are combining the mixer with a clothing drive to support the Women's Center of Greater Lansing. Clients at the Women's Center are in need of professional clothing, including shoes, purses, portfolios, bags, jewelry. Please bring donations and WLAM will collect them to donate to the Women's Center.
